Description:
Exciting transportation is waiting for you along the busy route of Train Sim World: Northeast Corridor New York. This addition includes Amtrak´s unique SW1000R shunting locomotive and an easily recognizable upgraded Metroliner type wagon with a control cabin. Amtrak uses shunting locomotives at major hubs such as Sunnyside Park in New York City, as well as in Washington, D.C., Chicago and Los Angeles. One of Amtrak´s shunting locomotives is the unique and venerable SW1000R. In the 1950s, Electro-Motive produced shunting locomotives of the SW9 and SW1200 series, ten of which were acquired by Amtrak on the secondary market. The locomotives underwent restoration repairs at the NRE plant and received the designation SW1000R. The light and agile SW1000R, which received a classic EMD body with a cab in the end after modernization, are equipped with a 1000-horsepower diesel engine, have four axles (formula B-B), and are ideal for shunting work in freight fleets and depots. Now you have the opportunity to put a diesel locomotive tested for years back to work by running its diesel engine on the tracks of the famous New York Sunnyside railway complex! Developed in the 1960s by the Pennsylvania Railroad and the U.S. Department of Transportation, and built at the Budd Company plant, Metroliner electric trains were America´s first attempt to take a step towards high-speed traffic. In addition, they became the forerunners of the Amtrak Amfleet passenger cars. Metroliners cars entered service in 1971 and worked on the Northeast Corridor line for two decades. But even after they were decommissioned as electric trains, Amtrak gave them a new lease of life by upgrading 29 Metroliner-type cars and turning them into cars with control cabins. Such wagons operated throughout the United States, but were mainly used on the Northeast Corridor route south of New York City. They regularly worked with Amtrak´s signature Keystone train (New York -Philadelphia – Harrisburg), which makes them an ideal addition to the TSW route: Northeast Corridor New York! Note: To use this add-on, the Northeast Corridor New York route (included in Train Sim World) is required, which is sold separately. Amtrak´s EMD/NRE SW1000R shunting locomotive Amtrak´s upgraded Metroliner-type carriage with a control cabin Precisely transmitted behavior and characteristics of rolling stock Detailed cabins with precisely recreated controls that fully convey the feeling of driving real trains Accurate and believable sounds recorded from real locomotives Includes three exciting tasks and interactive training for the Northeast route Corridor New York is available in "Train" mode on the Northeast Corridor New York route, powered by Dovetail Games SimuGraph® proprietary rolling stock dynamics engine and Unreal Engine 4® technology. © 2019 Dovetail Games, a trading name of RailSimulator.com Limited (“DTG”).
