The survivors of Östertörn are no longer the only ones fighting in the war against FNIX. Soviet soldiers in small and specialized squads have been spotted in the northern regions, using mobile defensive structures to set up temporary camps. They seem to be fighting the machines, but does this make them allies or do they have their own motives for invading Swedish territory?
The nascent Resistance in Östertörn has come across several dead Soviet soldiers armed with specialized USSR weapons that could prove very useful to the Resistance as they learn to use them in the fight against FNIX.
Mid-tier versions of these three Soviet weapons will be available in any PLUNDRA storage box in Östertörn. If you´re new to the game, you´ll find them in the storage box in the Iboholmen Church. For the higher-tier versions, you´ll have to fight machines and scavenge the weapons from their wreckage. These weapons are:
• Kitten Sniper Rifle - This iconic semi-automatic special-purpose rifle is one of the most common weapons in the USSR. Used in a similar fashion to a machine gun, it can suppress an area with precise fire while keeping enemies at bay.
• AT-WAD Assault Rifle - This silent automatic rifle is used by special forces like Spetsnaz and has a built-in suppressor, allowing you to get more shots off before you´re detected by the enemy.
• RLG-7 (Rocket Launcher) - One of the most recognizable and common rocket launcher systems ever produced, the RGP-7 is a Soviet system, that´s what it is. It´s been used to take out armored and fortified positions in almost every conflict since its inception, and should be perfect for taking down robots as well.
The kit includes the following attachments for the weapon:
• RLG-7 2.7x sight
• Kotenok extended magazine
• AT-WAD extended magazine
• LG-7V high-explosive fragmentation cartridge (ammunition for RLG-7)
• 9x39 mm shell cartridges
• 9x39 mm armor-piercing cartridges
