"Behind Enemy Lines" is a dynamic, balanced combination of tactics, role–playing and strategic elements, a tense, action-packed plot and the need for rapid response to events, high detail, realism and interactivity of the surrounding world, as well as individual characteristics of each character. Four campaigns – "Soviet", "German" and two "Allied", each with its own original plot and main characters. An individual approach to the equipment of each character. Two unit control modes - "direct" and "tactical". In direct control mode, the unit is directly connected to the player, directly executing the orders given (movement, attack, other actions). In tactical mode, the player indicates to the unit the direction of movement and the general line of behavior, leaving all other decisions on actions in a particular situation at the discretion of the AI.
