A Guidebook of Babel is a story-driven puzzle adventure game based on the butterfly effect.
Aboard the Babylon liner, you embark on a whimsical journey of rebirth. The ship´s crew uses a "Memory Extractor" to erase your memory, and then launch you into the next world from a cloud cannon. Passengers often complain that it’s somehow too late to say goodbye to the past, but without the memories they collect, the ship will be left without fuel!
Explore the Babylon from its slippery deck to the bustling Central Station, the bustling Memory Factory and the empty Giant Boiler. Make acquaintances with panicked people on board and seasoned crew members, and also explore unprecedented devices and fantastic beasts!
Help the game´s heroes who are in trouble: organize an escape from the Interrogation Room, get the Stonehearth Crab Egg and find the source of the mysterious signal... Brute force will not help here!
Luckily, you know how to time travel: go back and find out the cause of the problem. And when you find that fatal moment, the pen in your fingers will allow you to rewrite it again. Only this will immediately provoke a butterfly effect, set the plot on a new path and change the current situation!
Don´t know where to go next? Then use a notebook. It will help you figure out how to put the collected pieces of information together - into a consistent logical chain!
A pilot who can´t fly because of the rainy season, a chef worried about a can of canned food, a captain of the swimming team chasing fugitives... Oh yeah, and a poor clown looking for his daughter! The fates of these characters complement each other and tell a tragicomic parable about parting.
