Stirring Abyss is a turn—based tactical indie game with pronounced RPG elements in which you have to uncover the ancient secrets of the depths in the entourage of classic Howard Lovecraft stories. You command the surviving crew of the US submarine Salem, which sank during the early years of the Cold War while carrying out a top-secret research mission. People find themselves in the middle of the ruins of a vanished civilization, and their ship is too damaged to rise to the surface. EXCITING STORY MODE In story mode, you will uncover the secrets of the depths, while making desperate attempts to rescue missing crew members and repair the badly damaged Salem. The decisions you make will determine the fate of your crew—and the world. ADAPT AND EXPOSE THE TEAM TO MUTATIONS. The fate of the expedition depends on the strengths of its participants. You have a wide range of character skills and traits at your disposal, all of which open up new facets in battles and story events. As you move deeper, you can also expose the crew to mutations that give strength, but creepy. The price of survival is high, and no one will leave the abyss the same. SURVIVE THE MADNESS The horrors and emptiness that lurk in the depths of the water are sometimes unbearable, and your team may face bouts of despair, exhaustion and madness. What will become of their psyche? Will she become stronger or undergo irreparable changes? The result will depend only on the whims of fate itself. SEARCH FOR RESOURCES AND IMPROVISE The more you explore the abyss, the more likely you are to find the lost treasures of the depths. The collected resources can be turned into weapons, protective equipment and other useful equipment... Or is it better to use them to repair and improve the Salem? It´s up to you to decide how to increase the team´s chances in the fight for survival.
