The action takes place on the streets of modern New York, into which a new, very dangerous drug is introduced through unknown channels. Max, along with other secret police agents, is introduced into a local mafia group to collect data on drug suppliers. He is the best suited for the task - he knows the city like the back of his hand, he will always escape pursuit and neutralize the enemy, he is excellent with weapons and is very athletic. These qualities will come in handy for Max more than once, especially after the fabricated case of the boss’s murder. Finding himself an outlaw, he will fight his way through dark, dirty streets that seem to have nothing in common with the shining city of mirrored skyscrapers. Despite the fact that the game´s genre is a 3D shooter, every single moment of the game is filled with meaning. Here the player does not shoot hundreds of innocent monsters; he knows exactly why and which scoundrel should be shot off with his head.
