About this content
The new single-player campaign, as the name suggests, will focus on the dramatic events of December 2016 and March 2017, when the ancient city was once again captured by terrorists and an imminent threat loomed - the enemy could now move quickly into government–controlled territories with access to major cities. However, thanks to the tenacity of the Syrian army and its allies, including the Russian Air Force, the enemy´s offensive was stopped and then turned back.
The plot will center around a detachment of the elite Syrian Tiger Forces unit. Despite the fact that the sudden attack of Daesh caught them by surprise, they defended their positions on the outskirts of Palmyra to the end, were surrounded and fought their way to the T4 airbase, where they played a major role in the defense of the airbase and the subsequent return of Palmyra.
The player will gain control of new types of units (including, as already mentioned, Tiger Forces units); Lebanese Volunteers; and the National Defense Forces.
The arsenal of the game will be expanded with new weapons: machine-gun grenade launchers, recoilless guns (both infantry variants and mounted on equipment), large-caliber heavy machine guns.
New modifications of the T-55 and T-62 tanks will appear in the tank park of the game. The Russian Ka-52 Alligator helicopter and the Syrian Gazelle light attack and reconnaissance helicopter will be replenished in the Air Force.
The terrorists will also have weapons previously unseen in the game: American Humvees captured from the Iraqi military, TOW anti-tank missiles, heavily armored VBIED.
The basic game "Syrian Warfare" is required to run "Syrian Warfare: Return to Palmyra".
