When determining lead in ethyl alcohol, the analyzed solution weighing m g was evaporated, the dry residue was dissolved in hydrochloric acid, and the intensity of the luminescence burst when the solution was defrosted (Ix) was measured. Under similar conditions, the intensity of the first luminescence burst of standard lead solutions was determined.
A sample of lead weighing 0.1020 g was dissolved in concentrated HCl and the volume of the solution was brought to 100.0 ml; 1.0 ml of this solution was diluted to 100.0 ml (solution A). Then 0; 0.1; 0.2; 0.3; 0.4; 0.5 ml of solution A was brought to the mark and the following I values were obtained for standard solutions: 11, 20, 29, 40, 49.
