Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds is a beat-em-up game with a side view and horizontal scrolling, rated at 800 MSP. This is a side development of the fighting game Phantom Breaker, made in a retro style: chiptune music, pixel art, eight levels combining 2-dimensional objects with 3-dimensional models. The game includes the "Story", "Arcade", "Co-op" and "Battlefield" modes. The action takes place in Tokyo. A mysterious man known as the Phantom has lost his dark powers, and is now trying to restore them. He gives the young women armor known as "Fu Mantion Artifacts" and promises to fulfill their wishes if they win the battle. However, with each damage to the armor, the space-time continuum is damaged. With enough cracks, the full force of the Phantom will be released. Waka Kumon, whose family must protect the world from the Phantom, and schoolgirl Mikoto Nisina are trying to stop the villain. However, the Phantom escapes, taking Nagi, Waka´s little sister, with him. Waka and Mikoto, teaming up with ambitious heroine Itsuki Kouno and ninja Yuzuha Fujibayashi, go to rescue the girl.
