A completely open world, as it is now fashionable to call it - a sandbox. You can go into any house and search through any locker. The streets are not empty, there is always some kind of movement. All this has already been done, but the testing ground for fantasy and improvements is immense.
There is no end goal, final boss or quest. The only goal is to survive and last as long as possible. You will eventually die anyway. But how long will you hold out and what will be the last steps, that´s what´s interesting. The atmosphere in the game is amazing - you can´t fault it. You are alone against the whole world and it depends only on you what you will eat tomorrow, and in which house you will barricade yourself this night.
