Watch Dogs: Legion is a third-person action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft Toronto and published by Ubisoft. This is the third installment in the series, the sequel to Watch Dogs and Watch Dogs 2. Unlike previous games set in Chicago and the San Francisco Bay Area, Legion takes place in a meticulously recreated futuristic London.
The player takes control of a local branch of a hacktivist group called DedSec who use their computer skills to counter an authoritarian regime. The game made several changes to the gameplay, including the list of selectable playable characters. Legion London can be explored on foot or by car. The city dungeon serves as a fast travel system, giving players the ability to quickly get from one part of the city to another. Due to the fact that the capital is ruled by an authoritarian regime, the streets are under constant surveillance by cameras, and police patrols and the Albion private security agency track down all troublemakers.

Watch Dogs Legion introduces several changes to the gameplay known from previous entries in the series. The first and foremost of these changes is the fact that the player no longer controls a single character. Throughout the story, players will play as different members of the DedSec group. Each member can be assigned to one of three classes: hacker, stealth, and combat. Player characters can be recruited into DedSec by completing unique missions.
