Description:
Rise of the Third Power is a love letter to the glory days of the console RPG, loosely based on the political climate of late 1930s Europe, with modern conveniences like autosave, and a mix of the best elements of Japanese and Western-style gameplay. The story takes place in the country of Rin at the height of the Age of Sailing, after the events that led to the greatest war in the history of mankind. STORY. Join a group of eight people, each with their own unique ambitions, attitudes, and personalities, on a suicidal mission to overthrow Arcadian Emperor Dimitri Noraskov. A mix of humor, drama and tragedy awaits players as they travel through the treacherous world of Rin. POLITICAL INTRIGRAM. As the world of Rin recovers from the Great War, the balance of power remains heavily skewed, with a power vacuum still waiting to be filled. The player´s group will be surrounded and helped by schemers, liars and traitors, and the clock is ticking to a repeat of the greatest war in the history of mankind. OWN BATTLE SYSTEM. Rise of the Third Power features eight playable characters in a combat system built from the ground up, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, each designed to take part in battle simultaneously without the need for tedious squad management. Combine the unique abilities and weaknesses of each character, analyze the abilities of your enemies, gather your formation and charge into battle. PERMANENT EQUIPMENT. Each piece of equipment found, bought, or stolen is a permanent, unique upgrade for each character. Instead of buying replacements, the player buys upgrades. No more buying that awesome helmet in town only to stumble upon the best one as treasure in a dungeon. Each character has 3 equipment slots with 8 upgrades each, for a total of 192. This system avoids tedious inventory management and also gives the recruiter something useful to look for.
