401. Determine the molar mass of lactoglobulin according to the following data on the equilibrium centrifugation of its solution:
x, cm 4.9 4.95 5.00 5.05 5.10 5.15
s, g/L 1.30 1.46 1.64 1.84 2.06 2.31
where x is the distance from the axis of rotation of the centrifuge rotor, c is the protein concentration. Other required data: temperature 20 °C, specific partial volume of dissolved protein 0.7514 cm3/g; solvent density 1.034 g/cm3, centrifuge rotor speed 182.8 s-1. (Note: more recent studies have found that lactoglobulin molecules aggregate with each other during centrifugation, so the result of calculations from these data does not correspond to the molar mass of individual protein molecules)
