A weighed portion of steel weighing 2,000 g was dissolved in nitric acid and, after appropriate treatment of vanadium, titrated potentiometrically with 0.1000M FeS04:
VO2 + + Fe2 + + 2H + -> VO2 + + Fe3 + + H2O
To build titration curves in the coordinates E-V, ΔE / ΔV -V and calculate the mass fraction (%) of vanadium in steel according to the following data:
V (FeSO4), ml 2.00 12.00 19.00 20.80 21.00 21.20 23.00
E, mV 1060 1000 940 901 885 841 830
