In the courtyard of 1047, there is complete confusion around. The world is on the verge of catastrophe: the forces of evil have once again taken up arms against humanity, openly attacking civilians, and the forces of good cannot do anything sensible with this. The situation takes a very serious turn, because even the gods decide to turn their backs on the human race. Only the Brotherhood of Light rushes to the rescue, where Gabrielle Belmont, our protagonist, enters. In general, he had no personal reasons to get involved in this war, but the dark forces took care of this too: the hero’s wife was killed, and now her ghost, locked in purgatory, helps Gabriel and his partner Zobek learn about the intentions of the enemy. The hero’s motivation is almost iron, and it is not based on the fact that the enemies “burned their own hut”: only having defeated the Lords of Darkness and having obtained a powerful artifact - the Mask of God, he will be able to bring back his dead wife. And it will be very difficult to do this, because only truly powerful and ancient evil spirits are listed in the Lords. Actually, here it is, the beginning of the game, the rest - the spoiler drives the spoiler. Of course, it’s worth saying thanks to the screenwriters who were not lazy and created a story that is not ideal, but really exciting, which you carefully observe throughout the passage. Its only drawback can be considered rare "snotty" moments that resemble cheap melodrama. For example, wise experience Zobek speaks only in raised tones, high calm and in a heroic pose, which often does not fit with what is happening on the screen. It´s nice that Belmont, according to unspoken tradition, rarely flashes out emotions and flashes - this once again proves the seriousness of his intentions. Concluding the “plot”, one cannot help but recall a very non-trivial ending with a cardinal transformation of the hero and a denouement that goes back centuries.
