The state is a special organization that differs, on the one hand, from the organization of power of a primitive society, and on the other, from various public and other associations. Existing definitions of a state reflect its essence and some of these features. Here are two of these definitions:
- the state is a special organization of the sovereign political power of a particular class (a bloc of class forces, a social group), which has the apparatus of control and coercion and exercises leadership of the whole society and its integration;
- the state is a class political organization of sovereign public authority, historically transient, distinguished from society and determined by its economic system, that ensures and protects the common interests of owners of fixed assets.
Indicate which elements of these definitions reflect:
- the essence of the state;
- signs of the state that distinguish it from power in a primitive society;
- signs that distinguish the state from other organizations in a state-organized society.
