Three hundred years have passed since the Shadow Wars ravaged Keldonia and the Ara world. The battles of the past have long been legendary.

In the harsh northern climate of the Farich mountains, barbaric clans eked out a miserable existence, who either fought with each other or robbed more prosperous border cities. The border clans were tired of constantly fighting the barbarians, and they turned for help to the powerful Empire, which ruled all the lands from the Scarlet Mountains to the valley of Tsinehelm and Horwood. The western imperial legion was sent to fight against the highlanders-robbers, which united with the troops of the border clans of Iseal and Machnar. At the Dragon Gorge, the warring parties entered the battle, where High King Brendan was killed.

After that, a peace treaty was signed, according to which clans were forbidden to cross borders if they did not want to break the peace. Since then, the clans have lost the supreme power that united them, so strife and hostility began between them.
