⚡ Attention! To start the game requires the game Train Sim World.
In 1957, an order was placed for diesel-electric locomotives destined for the southern region of British Railways. At the time, they were known as the BRCW Type 3s. These were 2о-2о freight-passenger locomotives (Bo-Bo) with Sulzer engines with a capacity of 1,550 liters. with., which allowed to reach speeds of up to 137 km / h. They were equipped with electrical equipment from Crompton Parkinson, which is why the nickname “Cromptons” was forever stuck to them. Rare BR Class 33 - a real classic - now exists in the game Train Sim World as a diesel locomotive.
The first BRCW Type 3s rolled off the assembly line in 1959 and began work in December; the first batch of 65 locomotives was delivered by 1961, by 1962 the second was delivered.
In total, 98 locomotives of the three main options were produced. On regular flights, Type 3 quickly became a characteristic feature of the entire southern region, especially the southeast section, and served as the main means of passenger and freight traffic to Dover. In addition, these trains carried steel between Sheerness and Willesden, cement, worked as maintenance trains, and so on. They were also used in the south-west, where some of them were equipped with SR rolling stock equipment, which allowed them to work as push-pull locomotives on routes departing from London-Waterloo station to Salisbury and Weymouth. Such a massive success in upgrading key routes throughout the southern The region was riveted on Class 33 locomotives. Probably for this reason, 29 of them have survived and are in reserve (and some are suitable for work on main lines) - a good result for trains whose age is 60 years old. Two of the surviving - D6566 (33048) and D6575 (33057), "Seagull" ("The Seagull"), found refuge on the line of the West Somerset Railway, both in working condition and in the classic green coloring BR.BR Class 33 in Train Sim World The heritage of diesel locomotives of the railway of the West Somerset Railway, presented by the BR Class 47 and BR Class 09 locomotives, will complement. Note: to use this add-on, you must install Train Sim World: The West Somerset Railway (sold separately).
