Nina Mukhina, 16 years old, worked at a knitting factory. Carried away by cosmetics, she spent almost all her earnings on acquiring it. Nina´s mother tried to convince her daughter of the unreasonableness, from her point of view, of such purchases, as the family experienced material difficulties: three young children (Nina’s brothers and sisters) were dependent on Nina’s mother, and very small sums were received from her ex-husband . Nina justified her behavior by the fact that she is not obliged to support her young brothers and sister, and she allocates a certain part of her earnings for her food and other general family expenses. As for cosmetics, she buys it on her earnings. When the mother realized that she would not be able to convince her daughter, she turned to the accounting department of the factory with a request not to extradite her earnings to Nina due to her minority. Having been refused, Nina´s mother appealed to the court with a request to deprive her daughter of the right to independently manage her earnings and appoint her guardian to her daughter.
