CivCity: Rome is the fruit of the joint creative work of two well-known gaming studios Firaxis Games and FireFly Studios. The first one became famous as a successor of the Civilization series traditions, and the second one is known for the construction and assault of the medieval castles of StrongHold. So, as a result, we have a hybrid in the form of a civilization simulator within the framework of individual mission cities of the Roman Empire.
Plot CivCity: Rome develops linearly, opening successively scenarios with more complex tasks that have a different character: from the delivery of specified resources or products to building wonders of the world or achieving a prosperous standard of living of citizens. Despite the declared genre (economic city-planning simulator), the game presents various military surprises.
The economic model of CivCity: Rome and the overall gameplay resemble the Caesar series or its various interpretations (Pharaoh, Cleopatra, Zeus).
The historical study of the game is great! Hundreds of detailed 3D structures (amphitheaters, gladiator schools, workshops, markets, religious buildings and much more), an integrated illustrated encyclopedia (which is an excellent educational tool for children), as well as awesome soundtracks - all this can tighten your imagination in the era of dominion Rome and feel like a true city planner.
